Lingerie Market: Focus on Design & Fashion Trends

Posted by aarkstore on March 25, 2009

The growing fashion appeal of lingerie has changed drastically over the years. The market is being driven by the advent of modern technologies and fabrics that help in designing innovative products such as laser-cut seamless bras and moulded T-shirt bras. Designers are putting greater emphasis on rich-looking fabrics, laces, embroideries and brighter, more daring colors. The largest-selling lingerie product is bra. There is a huge demand for full-busted bras.

Retailers acknowledge the fact that lingerie market has higher profit margins than regular apparel. They are launching new lingerie lines and also giving their older products a makeover. Lingerie vendors are focusing more on their alliances with lingerie specialty stores as compared to department stores. The worlds largest lingerie manufacturer, Victorias Secret, operates almost exclusively in North America. The European market is quite fragmented, with Triumph International and DB Apparel leading the market.

The report analyzes the worldwide, US, UK, and French lingerie markets. Apart from providing a competitive landscape of the market, the report also profiles the major lingerie companies, with a discussion of their key business strategies. Hearing Aid Market Report: 2008 Edition

Posted by aarkstore on March 25, 2009

Hearing aid industry is going digital; the digital revolution has changed the structure of the hearing aid industry. The market is following the trend towards open and cosmetically attractive mini-instruments. The low penetration rates represent a significant growth opportunity for the hearing aid manufacturers. Typically, the hearing aid market is segmented based on geography and product/price categories. Behind-the-ear (BTE) instruments constitute more than half of the overall US market.

Technology holds the key to higher penetration in mature markets. Technological advances in hearing aids and hearing assistive technologies (HATS) are major growth drivers. Ageing population is also driving the hearing aid market. The majority of hearing aids are sold to people aged 65 or above, living in Western Europe and North America.

The report analyzes the worldwide hearing aid industry with focus on US market. It also highlights major market trends and growth drivers. It gives an overview of the regulatory environment in the US. The report also profiles major players in the market and the competitive landscape.

Handbags Market Report – 2008 Edition

Posted by aarkstore on March 25, 2009

Handbags are one of the key accessories driving the fashion world. The prices of designer handbags have been rising rapidly for the last several years. However, few analysts feel that the growth of handbag sales in US market might slow down compared to rapid growth in recent years. The handbag market is also facing intense competition from other accessories like jewelry and watches.

The premium handbag companies mainly include luxury brands as well as private label retailers. Europe has dominated the luxury handbag market for long with brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci and Prada. But now American designers are fiercely competing with new strategies and branding initiatives. A key issue is the addition of lower-priced lines by several American designer brands. The handbag marketplace has become extremely competitive with a large number of independent designers launching their own stores.

A key trend is of US and European accessories firms entering the Asian market. Coach expects expansion opportunities in China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Gucci has planned a series of store openings in emerging markets, including two in India, and others in Macau, Prague and Budapest. Dooney & Bourke opened its first store outside US, within the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel in Macau. It plans to open five to 10 stores in Asia over the next three years. Cole Haan is also expanding into the Far East.

The report begins with a discussion of the segments of the handbag market and then goes on to analyze the US and European market. The report profiles the major companies, focusing in-depth on their business strategies. It also analyzes the major trends prevalent in the market.

UK Consumer Satisfaction Index 2009: Clothing – now available through Aarkstore

Posted by aarkstore on November 10, 2008

In an intensely competitive retail market, keeping customers satisfied has never been more important. Retailers need to understand how they satisfy their shoppers in order to enhance their appeal and increase customer loyalty. Moreover, an insight into what drives customer satisfaction at competitors is essential to win customers from them.

Scope

Measures and ranks customer satisfaction for all significant retailers in the sector over six years (2004-2009).
Includes ratings for eight performance metrics: price, range, quality, service, convenience, ambience, layout and facilities.
Covers 24 retailers including M&S, Primark, John Lewis, TK Maxx, Asda, Matalan, River Island, Bhs, New Look, Next and Debenhams.

Highlights

The downturn in consumer sentiment has directly benefited value clothing retailers and with the economic climate set to deteriorate further in 2009, value players with a strong cohesive offer are likely to satisfy the needs of a greater number of shoppers going forward. New Look, TK Maxx and Primark produced particularly strong showings this year.

John Lewis holds on to the crown for the third year running. With a score 57 points above the average this year, it tops the charts for service and layout and sits comfortably in the top three for range, convenience and ambience, proving that retailers cannot depend on price alone to satisfy customers.

Marks & Spencer’s quality credentials continue to satisfy its core shopper. Moving up one place to fourth position, M&S’ main shoppers are satisfied across a vast number of metrics, but at the top of this is quality for the sixth consecutive year.

Reasons to Purchase

Identify the preferences of your shoppers and how successful you are in delivering on them to help you retain your customers.
Understand the weaknesses of your competitors’ customer proposition and exploit them to your advantage.
Independently track how strategies and management policy are affecting or influencing customer satisfaction.
